Walk Now For Autism 2009

Our awesome walk team: the Dad, the Buddy, Melissa, Grandpa,Lisa, me, the Princess, Nana, Baby Cody, Jen, Addison & Tim

We participated in Autism Speak's Walk Now For Autism at the end of May. It was our second year doing the walk. This year, our family was joined again by my parents, our good friend Lisa, cousin Baby Cody, and my sister-in-law Melissa and her sister Jen & husband Tim and baby Addison. It was a gorgeous day in San Jose - not too hot. We did the 2-mile walk and I was so surprised that my kids walked the whole way. I think it helped there were snacks and drinks along the way!

Lisa & the Princess - Lisa walked with us last year and then she moved out of state, but she came back to walk with us this year. My kids LOVE her! We do too! And thanks to Lisa for taking so many great pictures during the walk!

Bubbles & pinwheels (and snacks) helped keep the kids' attention during the walk. After our circuit was finished, we walked around the resource fair and the kids had so much fun playing with bubbles!

While there, we also ran into the Buddy's former swim teacher, Jason. We hadn't seen Jason for a while and the Buddy was very excited to see him. I never got a picture of the two of them swimming, but this is good enough!

We are always humbled and grateful for the support we've received from our family and friends since the Buddy was diagnosed with autism almost 4 years ago. My family living close by provides us with a lot of physical support. Our family & friends farther away provide a lot of emotional support - and I know we benefit from every one's prayers.
