The Princess had her first trip on BART over to San Francisco the Saturday after Christmas. We went with Grandma Michaelsen, my mom and my grandma. We first saw the snow village at the Hyatt hotel near the Embarcadero. It was amazing - and it was all the personal collection of one man!

Then we walked to the Ferry Building and enjoyed seeing all the different specialty food shops - everything from caviar to olive oil to sausage to mushrooms. We had a yummy lunch of burgers & fries at a little diner there and had gelato at another place for dessert. The Princess wanted chocolate - no surprise there! We all had the most wonderful flavors - dulce de leche, maple gingersnap & pistachio - YUM!

We got the Princess to ride in the stroller for a while - not a common occurrence - and we walked, and walked and walked, taking a little detour through Chinatown before walking around Union Square a little. The sidewalks there were filled with shoppers, but we saw some fun sights including this completely edible sugar castle at the Westin St. Francis hotel. Then we walked back to BART for the ride home. The Princess was asleep before we got to Oakland! It was a big, busy day for everyone, but so fun to see all the sights!

That looks like a ton of fun! I loved the ferry building!
Also - love the new background - I almost chose it for mine! Happy New year!
How neat to spend so much time with the grandparents! Glad you had such a nice Christmas and kudos to you for hosting everyone on Christmas Eve!
Sounds like such a fun outing for all the girls. Almost makes me jealous I don't have a little girl.
