I think it's good that my 100th post is to highlight World Autism Awareness Day. As you know, the Buddy was diagnosed with autism 3 1/2 years ago, at the age of 2 1/2. His diagnosis totally changed our family. He is our cute, sweet Buddy. However, there isn't a day that goes by that we're not frustrated by his disability and how it affects him. Too many children & families are affected by autism and that's why there needs to be awareness. If you're reading this, you at least know one family - ours - that is affected by autism, but given the statistics, chance are you know more.
The CDC estimates that 1 in 150 children will be diagnosed with autism, and the rate is higher among boys - 1 in 94.
So today is World Autism Awareness Day. Click here to learn more about how to interact with people who have autism, what some of the early signs of autism are, and even donate to the Autism Society of America.
At the end of May, our family will be participating again in Walk Now for Autism, sponsored by Autism Speaks. Visit our team website at www.walknowforautism.org/bayarea Our team is Spencer's Speedsters.

As I have told you before, I have a great deal of sympathy and compassion for those families that live with Autism. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I recently came across an article and thought you may be interested:
